Amperi scooter: first check at around 1,000 km and warranty service at 3,000 km

We recommend a check (the first inspection service) after about 1,000 km. The service required to keep your warranty valid is carried out after 3,000 km. The check at around 1,000 km helps catch problems such as play and loose fixings early. It usually covers, among other things, the brakes, tyres, play and fixings, lighting, electrical connections, and software and diagnostics. Skipping the check increases the risk of faults, as in the described case of a loose front lamp.

This advice is based on solutions to specific, anonymised cases handled by Amperi Service. Every case can be different – the steps described do not replace a professional service diagnosis.

Symptoms

Possible causes

What you can check

  1. Plan the check for after about 1,000 km. Keep an eye on the odometer and book the visit in advance, ideally when you are at around 800–900 km.
  2. Plan the service required to keep your warranty valid for after 3,000 km. Do not go beyond this mileage.
  3. Do not treat the check at around 1,000 km as something you can skip. Its purpose is to catch problems before they get worse.
  4. Before the visit, check by eye that the front lamp sits firmly. Inflate the tyres to the pressure recommended for your model (given in the manual or on the label on the vehicle).
  5. During the check and the service, the technician usually inspects, among other things, the brakes, tyres, play and fixings, lighting, electrical connections, and software and diagnostics.
  6. Do not open any covers, the battery or the electronics yourself. Leave the work to the service centre.
  7. If you notice a loose front lamp or other play at the front of the vehicle, stop riding until it has been checked by a service centre. If you have to ride to the workshop, go slowly and avoid bumps.
Follow safety rules when working with batteries and electrical equipment. Do not open batteries or high-voltage electronics. Unauthorised modifications to the equipment during the warranty period may void the warranty.

When to contact the service

The vehicle should go to a service centre for the check when the odometer is approaching about 1,000 km, and for the service required to keep your warranty valid after 3,000 km. It should also go if the front lamp is loose or rattling, if the tyres need constant topping up, or if the brakes feel different from usual. If the recommended mileage for the check has already been passed, have it done as soon as possible.

We recommend a check (the first inspection service) after about 1,000 km.

When should I have the service required to keep my warranty valid?

The service required to keep your warranty valid is carried out after 3,000 km.

How does the check at around 1,000 km differ from the service at 3,000 km?

The check at around 1,000 km is recommended and is meant to catch problems such as play early. The service at 3,000 km is required to keep your warranty valid.

What does the check or service usually cover?

It usually covers, among other things, the brakes, tyres, play and fixings, lighting, electrical connections, and software and diagnostics.

What can happen if I skip the check at around 1,000 km?

Problems that could be caught early (loose fixings, falling tyre pressure, brake wear) can get worse. In the described case, the vehicle was ridden with a loose front lamp that moved in its mounting opening because of vibration and potholes. The bezel clips and the lens were damaged.

Is the service the same as the roadworthiness test at a vehicle inspection station?

No. The check and the service are carried out at a service centre, while the mandatory roadworthiness test is carried out by a vehicle inspection station. One does not replace the other.
